Detroit Lakes , MN (KDLM)-
A longtime Frazee community fundraiser has now surpassed the $100,000 mark in donations to support Frazee students.
United Community Bank says this summer’s Hornet Pride Picnic raised another $10,000 for Frazee athletics and activities, bringing the event’s total contributions to $101,000 since the picnic began in 2010.
Frazee Branch Manager and Loan Officer Ashley Renollet says she was especially pleased with this summer’s turnout and excited to see the fundraiser cross the $100,000 milestone.
The Hornet Pride Picnic has been held on Main Avenue in Frazee each summer, bringing together community members, local businesses, families and school supporters.
Renollet says the event has become much more than a fundraiser. It has become a community tradition and a way for people to show their support for Frazee students.
The picnic would not be possible without the volunteers, sponsors, community members and school supporters who contribute to its success.
