The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency has issued an air quality alert for much of the state, including west central Minnesota. The alert began Tuesday morning and remains in effect through 11 am Friday, July 17th.
Smoke from wildfires burning in Canada and northern Minnesota is expected to create unhealthy air quality across west central Minnesota through Friday.
Health officials recommend limiting prolonged or heavy outdoor activity, especially if you experience coughing, shortness of breath, or other symptoms. Additional rounds of heavy smoke are possible through Friday morning.
Residents can check current air quality conditions on the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency’s Air Quality Index webpage.
