Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – The Minnesota Twins closed out a three-game home set against the Colorado Rockies with a 3-2 win on Sunday, taking the series two games to one at Target Field.
Ryan Kreidler provided the difference, launching a go-ahead solo home run in the seventh inning to snap a 2-2 tie. The blast capped a tight afternoon in which neither team ever led by more than a run.
Connor Prielipp set the tone on the mound for Minnesota, striking out a career-high 10 batters while allowing two runs on six hits over six innings. He left with the game tied and did not factor in the decision, but his outing kept the Twins in range. Andrew Morris picked up the win in relief, and Yoendrys Gómez recorded the save as the bullpen combined for three scoreless innings.
Kody Clemens also went deep for the Twins, while Royce Lewis doubled and came around to score and Brooks Lee chipped in two hits. Minnesota managed just eight hits but made them count.
Ryan Feltner gave Colorado a strong start in defeat, surrendering just one earned run on five hits over six innings. The Rockies have now dropped three of their last five.
The Twins hit the road next, opening a three-game series at the Houston Astros on Monday, June 29th, with first pitch set for 7:10 p.m.
