Detroit Lakes , MN (KDLM)-
A Detroit Lakes nonprofit is using a shared passion for motorsports and community service to support families facing difficult circumstances throughout the region.
Founded by Sarah and Tyler Stenger, Motorheads of America is a volunteer-led organization dedicated to helping families in crisis by bringing together automotive enthusiasts and community members to raise funds and awareness. According to Sarah Stenger, the organization’s mission is to provide tangible assistance, emotional support, and financial relief to individuals and families during challenging times.
Stenger noted that all board members serve as volunteers and receive no compensation, with donations going directly toward helping those in need.
To help advance those efforts, the organization is hosting Motorheads Summer Fest on Saturday, June 27, at the Becker County Fairgrounds in Detroit Lakes from 11 am to 5 pm.
The free, family-friendly event will feature an auto show where organizers say “anything with an engine” is welcome, along with vendors, food trucks, a kids zone, bounce houses, family activities, raffles, and more. Participants wishing to enter the auto show may register from noon to 2:50 pm Saturday. An entry fee will apply.
Stenger emphasized that Summer Fest is much more than an auto show. Organizers hope the event will bring together people of all ages for a day of community fun while raising support for crisis prevention efforts in the area.
General admission is free, and the event is open to the public.
