Detroit Lakes , MN (KDLM)-
A familiar landmark along the Detroit Lakes shoreline is beginning a new chapter.
Demolition work has started on the City Park Pavilion at City Beach, with construction crews visible at the site this week.
The existing pavilion has served residents and visitors for decades, but the new facility will provide modern amenities and improved accessibility while enhancing the City Beach area for years to come.
The pavilion is expected to maintain its role as a gathering place along Detroit Lake while offering updated features designed to better serve the community.
Completion of the new pavilion is currently projected for the fall of 2027.
Residents interested in seeing what the finished facility will look like can view renderings on the City of Detroit Lakes website.
The pavilion renovation is part of ongoing efforts to invest in public spaces and improve the lakefront experience for residents and visitors alike.
