Detroit Lakes , MN (KDLM)-
M State will hold a public meeting Thursday, November 5, to provide information and answer questions about the planned closure of its Detroit Lakes campus.
The meeting begins at 6 pm in Room C101 on the Detroit Lakes campus.
The college announced earlier this month that it plans to close the campus because of declining enrollment and the cost of maintaining the large, aging facility.
M State says the nursing and radiologic technology programs will continue, although radiologic technology is expected to move to Moorhead. The college is also working with a local partner to explore keeping the nursing program in Detroit Lakes.
The planned closure still requires approval from the Minnesota State Board of Trustees, and the campus is expected to remain open until at least the summer of 2028.
No decision has been made about the future use of the building.
The November 5 meeting will give community members an opportunity to learn more about the plans and ask questions.
