Minnesota’s Take a Kid Hunting Weekend is coming up this Saturday and Sunday, September 26 and 27.
The Minnesota DNR says adult Minnesota residents accompanied by a youth under age 16 can hunt small game without a license during the special weekend.
Hunters must still follow all open seasons, limits and other regulations.
Hunting small game is a good way to introduce young people to the outdoors and teach them about wildlife, firearm safety and accessing hunting land.
