Fergus Falls, MN – West Central Initiative is partnering with the Aspen Institute’s Weave: The Social Fabric Project to launch the West Central Minnesota Weaver Awards to recognize and support neighbors who are building trust, belonging, and connection throughout the region.
The Weaver Awards are a national initiative and will recognize 20 individuals and nonprofit organizations in the region working to bring people together and help communities thrive. Awardees will receive grants ranging from $2,500 to $5,000 and access to learning opportunities, one-on-one support, networking events, and local and national recognition through the Aspen Institute.
“We envision a future where all people feel welcome, appreciated for their unique attributes, and connected to their neighbors, communities, and natural environments,” said West Central Initiative Weaver Award Contact Ashley Quam. “The Weaver Awards celebrate the people who are already doing this important work every day.”
Individuals age 18 and older and 501(c)(3) organizations located in Becker, Clay, Douglas, Grant, Otter Tail, Pope, Stevens, Traverse, or Wilkin Counties or White Earth Nation are eligible to apply.
West Central Initiative will accept applications and nominations through an online form from June 22 through August 6 at 5 p.m. To learn more or submit an application or nomination, visit wcif.org/rural-belonging.
