Detroit Lakes, Minn. (KDLM) – An icy stretch of Interstate 94, near Oriska, North Dakota is blamed in part for a fatal rollover crash early Saturday morning.
On Oct. 28 at 1:15 a.m., the North Dakota Highway Patrol said a 50-year-old driver of the pickup truck lost control of his vehicle and entered a roadside ditch, east of Valley City.
The vehicle rolled and finally came to rest along a fence line.
Both the driver and a 42-year-old female passenger were ejected from the truck. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The woman was transported by Barnes County Ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Valley City and later Sanford Hospital in Fargo with serious injuries.
The accident remains under investigation.
