Detroit Lake and Others Being Treated for Flowering Rush Wednesday

Detroit Lakes , MN – Weather permitting, PLM Lake & Land Management will be treating Lakes Muskrat, Detroit, Sallie, & Melissa for Flowering Rush on Wednesday, July 1, 2026.

Diquat will be used to treat submersed/mostly submersed Flowering rush in mid-June followed by a second treatment in late July to early August.

Aquatic herbicides water use restrictions according to label:

  • Swimming: 0 days
  • Drinking water: 1-3 days
  • Domestic uses: 1-3 days
  • Fish consumption: 0 days
  • Irrigation for food/crop: 5 days
  • Irrigation for turf/ornamental: 1-3 days
  • Livestock watering: 1 day
