Great Polar Race Rebrands to Great Polar Hunt with Social Distancing in Mind

DETROIT LAKES (KDLM) – The Great Polar Race, a staple of Polar Fest in Detroit Lakes has been rebranded as the Great Polar Hunt this year.

The Detroit Lakes Regional Chamber of Commerce has updated the event to allow for current COVID-19 State regulations.

Individuals and families that register will be emailed on February 5th a puzzle to be solved by finding hidden signs around Detroit Lakes. Once the puzzle is completed participants will be eligible to win prize packages filled with local gift cards worth over $100.00.

Carrie Johnston, President of the Detroit Lakes Regional Chamber of Commerce says the event is designed with social distancing in mind, “it will be easy and usually you’ll be able to do it right from your car and a great thing to do with the family or a coworker competition to see who can solve the puzzle first.”

Completed puzzles will need to be returned to the Detroit Lakes Chamber Office by February 16. If you would like to participate, registration is available at VisitDetroitLakes.com
