Humane Society of the Lakes is inviting the public to learn more about its new legacy program, “Tails of Tomorrow.”
The organization will host a free informational meeting on June 17 from noon to 1:30 pm at the VFW in Detroit Lakes.
Co-Manager Cora Fastner-Collins says the event will provide information about the new program, including ways community members can make a lasting impact for animals in need and help ensure their pets are cared for in the future if they are no longer able to do so themselves. Organizers say attendees will also hear inspiring stories and learn more about planning for their pets’ long-term care.
The event is open to the public.
The Humane Society is also asking for community support as kitten season gets underway. Shelter officials say some essential supplies are running low and donations of wet kitten food and wet adult dog food are especially needed.
