Vikings Re-Sign Edge Rusher Kenny Dyson To Practice Squad

Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – The Vikings are adding an edge rusher back to the roster days before the season opener. The Athletic’s Alec Lewis reported Monday that Minnesota is re-signing Kenny Dyson to the practice squad.

Dyson had been off the roster for less than a week. Lewis said the 25-year-old “really impressed the team late in the preseason.”Minnesota waived Dyson with an injury designation coming out of the preseason.

Reports say the two sides reached an injury settlement a few days ago, clearing the way for the team to bring him back. Dyson recorded two tackles and one sack in the preseason. The Bryant University product signed with the Carolina Panthers as an undrafted free agent in 2024 and played in two games as a rookie.

He spent this spring with the Houston Gamblers of the UFL, putting up 27 tackles and 4.5 sacks in 10 games. Dyson joins veteran Kyle Van Noy on a practice squad the Vikings have been reshaping since final cuts.

Minnesota opens the regular season Sunday at 3:25 p.m. when it hosts the Green Bay Packers at U.S. Bank Stadium.
