Wild About Wild Rice

Wild rice lovers have a chance to choose their favorite recipe as part of the 2026 “Get Wild with Wild Rice” Recipe Contest.

The Minnesota Cultivated Wild Rice Council is asking the public to vote for its People’s Choice Champion. Fourteen finalist recipes are competing, ranging from soups and salads to entrées and desserts.

The finalists were selected following recipe “cook-offs” held earlier this summer, with entries coming in from across the country.

Among the finalists are Loaded Wild Rice Smashed Potatoes and Orange-Cranberry Wild Rice Donuts.

Voters can view each recipe and photo online at mnwildrice.org and are limited to one vote each. Voting closes at 11:59 pm CDT on September 30.

The People’s Choice and Grand Prize winners will be announced in early October.
