Slow Down and Share the Road During Harvest

The Becker County Sheriff’s Department is reminding drivers to use extra caution during harvest season.

Drivers should be prepared for increased truck traffic and slow moving farm equipment, as well as pockets of poor road conditions throughout the county.

The Sheriff’s Department reminds drivers to slow down when approaching farm equipment, some equipment is wider than normal and may make sudden turns.

Drivers should also pay attention to trucks and tractors carrying heavy loads, as they need more time and distance to stop.

Wet or muddy areas on the roads may also be slippery.

Remember to allow extra time for travelling and be especially cautious at night. Taking a little extra time can help keep both motorists and farmers safe during harvest season.
