Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – Jake Bauers singled home the winning run in the 10th inning Sunday afternoon as the Milwaukee Brewers beat the Minnesota Twins 4-3 at American Family Field to take the rubber match of the three game series.

Bauers finished two for five with a solo home run, two walks and two runs batted in. His single in the 10th brought home the automatic runner and ended the game.

Twins reliever Yoendrys Gomez took the loss. He faced four batters in the 10th, allowed one hit and gave up the unearned run. DL Hall picked up the win after a scoreless ninth.

Brewers starter Jacob Misiorowski struck out nine over six innings, scattering four hits and one walk while giving up three runs on 94 pitches. Both of the runs charged to him came on home runs.

Milwaukee jumped ahead in the first and added two more in the fifth on solo homers from Bauers and Jackson Chourio and a run scoring double from David Hamilton.

Minnesota answered with a solo shot from Brooks Lee in the fifth and a two run homer from Kody Clemens in the sixth to tie it at three. That was the extent of the offense. The Twins managed just five hits and went one for 11 with runners in scoring position. Victor Caratini and Lee had two hits apiece, and no other Minnesota batter reached base more than once.

Twins starter Connor Prielipp went five innings, allowing five hits and three earned runs with seven strikeouts and two walks. Kody Funderburk, A.J. Minter and Tommy Nance combined for three and a third scoreless innings out of the bullpen before Gomez entered in the 10th.

The Brewers have won five of their last six and lead the National League Central at 74 and 44, the best record in baseball. The Twins have dropped two straight and sit at 58 and 61, tied with Cleveland for third in the American League Central.

Minnesota opens a three game homestand against the Baltimore Orioles at Target Field Monday, August 10th. First pitch is scheduled for 6:40 p.m.
