Detroit Lakes, MN (KDLM) – The Minnesota Lynx erased a fourth-quarter deficit to beat the Washington Mystics 78-76 on Wednesday night in the nation’s capital, extending one of the hottest stretches in the WNBA.

Minnesota trailed 58-50 heading into the final quarter before outscoring Washington 28-18 down the stretch to steal the win. The game had been tied 40-40 at halftime after the Mystics jumped out to a five-point lead in the opening quarter.

Natasha Howard and Olivia Miles paced the Lynx with 21 points apiece. Howard added 15 rebounds for a double-double and went 7-for-8 at the free-throw line, while Miles dished out five assists. Kayla McBride chipped in 19 points and knocked down five three-pointers.

Sonia Citron led all scorers with 28 points for Washington, hitting four of five from beyond the arc. Kiki Iriafen (13 points, 11 rebounds) and Shakira Austin (11 points, 16 rebounds) each posted double-doubles in the loss.

The victory avenged an 84-79 loss to the same Mystics in St. Cloud’s backyard just three days earlier in Minneapolis, and improved the Lynx to 14-4 — the best record in the Western Conference.

Minnesota has now won four of its last five games. The Lynx return to the road to face the Dallas Wings on Sunday, June 28th.
