FARGO (KFGO) – A Sioux Falls man was charged with impersonating a police officer after a woman noticed she was being followed while driving her vehicle.
Sam Clemens, public information officer for the Sioux Falls Police Department, said a woman noticed she was being followed in her car and circled the block four times when she arrived at her destination.
Clemens said: “Once (her vehicle) stopped, the vehicle following her stopped. (The woman and her passengers) got out to confront the man. He claimed he was an undercover police officer. They asked for his badge number and identification, but he did not provide that.”
Clemens then said, 44-year-old Ronald Stief sped off in his car, but the victims were able to get enough information on him and the vehicle for police to make an arrest.
If you ever notice you are being followed, Clemens added, the best thing to do is call police right away.
