GLYNDON, MN (KDLM/KRCQ) – The DGF Rebels hosted #5 AAA-ranked Bemidji Lumberjacks and the Detroit Lakes Lakers on Tuesday at the Fort in Glyndon. The Rebels and Lumberjacks started the night off, as Bemidji held on to defeat the Rebels 41-30. In a very competitive matchup, the Rebels kept it in reach and had an opportunity to get a pin at HWT for the victory, but Bemidji got the win to get the final score to 41-30.
The second matchup pitted the Lumberjacks and the DL Lakers. Talan Baker opened with a pinfall and the Lakers took a 6-0 lead, but Bemidji controlled the rest of the dual, holding a 30-10 lead halfway through the dual and winning 51-27.
In the third matchup of the Tri-angular, the Lakers took on the DGF Rebels, Talan Baker got his second win of the night to give the Lakers a 3-0 lead. After the dual was tied at 12, the Lakers were able to take control after a Cade Okeson won at 152, and finished it off 47-24 over their Section 8AA foe.
Bemidji finishes 2-0, the Lakers go 1-1 and host DGF goes 0-2. The Lakers are back on the road on Thursday as they travel to Alexandria for a Triangular with the Cardinals and Morris Area (MAHACA) at 5 pm on 102.3 KRCQ.
