Laker Girls Track Places Eighth At State True Team Meet in Stillwater

STILLWATER, MN (KDLM) – The Laker Girls Track and Field team finished in eighth place at the State True Team meet in Stillwater on Saturday with a team score of 422.5. Rocori won the meet with a 601.

The Lakers advanced to the State True Team Meet after winning the Section True Team meet in Fergus Falls earlier this month.

Abby Larson finished second in the 100m and fourth in the 200m. Annie Paulson was second in the 300m hurdles, and Jacee Hauser finished third in the discus with a new personal record of 111′ 5″. Grace Gunderson and Rylee Johnson finished fourth in the high jump, and Jerzie Horner finished tied for fourth in the pole vault. Julia Steffl and Lilly Baethke also set PRs in the 3200m race.

Next up for the Lakers: an eight-team meet in Bemidji to close out the regular-season schedule. The first round of sections will be at Mollberg Field on June 1st, with the section finals in Alexandria on June 4th. State Track and Field will be at St. Michael-Albertville High School June 9-11.
