Becker County Museum Asking for Volunteers to Help Digitize Records

Mar 11, 2022 | 9:22 AM

DETROIT LAKES (KDLM) – As the Becker County Museum prepares to move into their new facility, they’re working earnestly to digitize information they’ve kept on-file for years.

Volunteers are helping to enter Birth, Death, Marriage and other data that is currently stored on index cards into a digital and searchable database.

“Although this work can be tedious, this is very important information for our county museum and is usually the first stop when doing genealogy research,” said Becky Mitchell with the Becker County Historical Society and Museum.

Individuals who would like to help with the project are asked to contact Mitchell via email at becky@beckercountyhistory.org

Construction on the new 30,000 square foot building with a cost of $6.4 million began in May, 2021 and is expected to be complete this spring.
