PERHAM (KDLM) – A fire at Kenny’s Candy & Confections in Perham injured an employee, Tuesday.
The incident occurred around 11:30 a.m. when a fire broke out on a piece of equipment in the plant. “the sprinkler system activated and extinguished the fire, unfortunately one employee was injured and was taken to a medical facility,” said Robb Moser with KLN Family brands, parent company of Kenny’s Candy & Confections.
The injured employee suffered burns from the incident, but it is unclear how severe the injuries are.
Perham Fire Chief, Mark Schmidt says the cause of the fire is unknown, but will be investigated by the Minnesota State Fire Marshall’s Office.
