Marshmallow Animal Shelter Named 2021 Gratitude on Repeat Winner

DETROIT LAKES (KDLM) – Marshmallow Animal Shelter has been named the 2021 Lakes Area’s Gratitude on Repeat winner.

Lakes Area residents were encouraged to nominate their favorite nonprofit to be selected to receive a 13 week schedule of free radio advertising from Leighton Broadcasting.

Stephanie Theisen, Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Leighton Broadcasting says Gratitude on Repeat helps nonprofit’s causes come to life, “We believe in the power of radio advertising and the power and compassion of the people that live in our communities, lets combine the two and get some amazing results for the people in our area.”

The Marshmallow Animal Shelter is a nonprofit animal shelter that serves as a city pound for Detroit Lakes, Frazee, Audubon, Lake Park, Waubun, Mahnomen and Callaway, as well as Becker County. On average, they will have 60 cats and 20 dogs to care for while they wait to find new homes and families.

Past winners include, Lend A Hand Up an organization that helps local families in need of financial help for their medical bills and Lakes Area Kinship.
