Laker Boys Hockey Earns a Mid-State Conference Win Over Northern Lakes 4-1

BREEZY POINT, MN (KDLM) –  The Laker boys hockey team traveled to Breezy Point and earned a 4-1 win over the Northern Lakes Lightning.

The Lakers led 2-0 after the first period, thanks to goals by Beau Boehne and Cole Deraney. The Lakers never trailed in the game and relied on solid goaltending by Josh Mack.

In the second period, Detroit Lakes added a goal when Ben Hines tipped a Jacob Thomas shot into the net to make the score 3-0.

Detroit Lakes had a 3-1 lead going into the third period when Spencer Bergman provided insurance for the Lakers to make the final score 4-1.

Detroit Lakes is now 4-3 overall, and they moved to 2-0 in the Mid-State Conference. Detroit Lakes has won four of their last five games and will look to pick up another win when they travel to West Fargo on Saturday to play Section 8A opponent Crookston in an outdoor game.
