Detroit Lakes , MN (KDLM)-
With Minnesota’s firearms deer season opening November 7, the Department of Natural Resources is reminding hunters that a new electronic licensing system may take a little getting used to.
The system was launched in June, and the DNR says first-time transactions may take longer as hunters become familiar with the process.
Some people may also need assistance transferring their license history and setting up an account.
Hunters can buy licenses through the DNR’s mobile app, online or at an authorized license agent. To find a nearby location, visit the Minnesota DNR website.
Licenses can be carried as a paper copy, a digital copy or stored in the app.
The DNR encourages hunters to allow extra time when purchasing their licenses and to seek help if they have trouble with the new system.
