37-Year-Old Detroit Lakes Man Facing Sexual Conduct And Domestic Assault Charges

Detroit Lakes , MN (KDLM)- A 37-year-old Detroit Lakes man has been charged in Becker County District Court on two misdemeanor counts of fifth-degree criminal sexual conduct and domestic assault.

Two Detroit Lakes police officers were called to a Detroit Lakes residence on September 9th and they encountered a man later identified as Travis Wilkins. Court documents say Wilkins was covered in blood, and he said that he was stabbed. 

Wilkins was reportedly hostile, and he tried to put himself in front of a moving vehicle so it would hit him. He also apparently asked officers to shoot him. 

A teenage boy was covered in blood, and court documents say he attacked the boy when he was in bed.

Wilkins grabbed the victim by his genitals, and he fled after the boy stabbed him.

Wilkins was eventually arrested and is now scheduled to make his first court appearance on October 22nd.
