By Alex Carmenaty Oct 12, 2026 | 3:16 PM

Detroit Lakes , MN (KDLM//KBRF)- The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office has released 15 seconds of body camera footage from a shooting incident in Battle Lake on September 26 that left 39-year-old Christopher Olson dead.

The recording that was released does not show the shooting, but it has audio of a Otter Tail County SWAT team member in an armored vehicle.

The Sheriff’s Office was originally called to the scene on a report that Olson had assaulted a family member while armed with a shotgun. The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension’s preliminary investigation says that Fergus Falls Police Officer Matthew Cederberg fired his department-issued gun when Olson came out of a home he was barricaded in with his shotgun.

The BCA continues to investigate the incident.
