Detroit Lakes , MN (KDLM/Learfield)- A Hennepin County judge has lifted a temporary gag order against Vance Boelter in his state murder case. The judge says more restrictions on public statements are no longer needed. The temporary order was issued after Senator John Hoffman and his wife made state about Boelter and the case. This comes as his state trial has been delayed until May 10th, 2027, as his attorneys requested more time to review evidence in the case. Boelter has been convicted on federal charges for his role in murdering former Minnesota House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband. Boelter also shot and injured Hoffman and his wife.
