Scam Jam Coming to Detroit Lakes

A free Scam Jam aimed at helping people recognize and avoid fraud is coming to Detroit Lakes next week.

AARP Minnesota and the Better Business Bureau of Minnesota and North Dakota, along with other local organizations, will host the Detroit Lakes Area Scam Jam Wednesday, September 30, at the Historic Holmes Theater’s Midwest Bank Ballroom.

The program will focus on the latest scams and ways people can protect their money and personal information.

Doors open at 8:30 am, with breakfast and a mini-expo featuring local organizations and fraud fighting resources.

Speakers will discuss scams, fraud and identity theft, and steps people can take to protect themselves and their loved ones.

The Scam Jam runs from 8:30 am to noon at the Historic Holmes Theater, located at 806 Summit Avenue in Detroit Lakes.
