Detroit Lakes , MN (KDLM/Learfield)-Former Minnesota Senator Justin Eichorn has been sentenced to 16 months in federal prison for attempted possession of child pornography. The 42-year-old Republican from Grand Rapids was arrested in March 2025 when authorities say he arranged to meet someone for sex that he thought was a 17-year-old girl. The person he planned on meeting was an undercover officer. Eichorn ended up pleading guilty to a federal child pornography charge, and he resigned after he was arrested. He was also sentenced to five years of supervised release after leaving prison.
