Glyndon, MN – A Fargo man was found dead in a car in the Buffalo River north of Dilworth Thursday afternoon.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says deputies received a report of a vehicle in the Buffalo River near 90th Avenue North and 50th Street just before 5 p.m. Thursday. The caller reported they did not witness the vehicle enter the river but saw the vehicle in the river and tire skid marks on the roadway.
A Clay County deputy arrived at the scene and located a BMW passenger car on the east bank of the Buffalo River. The deputy determined the vehicle was occupied by one individual, who was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The deceased is a 24-year-old adult male from Fargo, North Dakota. His identity is being withheld pending notification of his family.
The incident remains under investigation. No further information will be released at this time.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Minnesota State Patrol, Sanford Ambulance, Dilworth Fire Department, and the Red River Regional Dispatch Center.
