Financial assistance is now available for homeowners and renters affected by the July 6 tornado in Becker County.
Minnesota Realtors has secured a $20,000 grant from the REALTORS Relief Foundation to provide up to $1,000 in assistance to qualifying households impacted by the tornado that caused damage near Detroit Lakes.
The funds can be used to help cover storm related expenses, including temporary housing and property damage.
Minnesota Realtors is partnering with the Lakes Country Association of REALTORS to administer the program and connect residents with the application process.
Eligible applicants include homeowners whose primary residences were damaged by the storm, as well as renters who were displaced and incurred temporary housing costs because of the tornado.
Applications are being accepted on a rolling basis through September 9.
