Detroit Lakes , MN (KDLM)-

Sanford Ambulance of Fargo responded Monday evening to a mutual aid request following the storms around the lakes area and the suspected tornado that caused damage near Floyd Lake,

According to a Sanford Ambulance media release, Essentia EMS requested additional emergency medical resources as crews responded to the storm.

Sanford deployed seven ambulances from Fargo while placing the remainder of its fleet on standby in case more assistance was needed.

The first two Sanford ambulances arrived in Detroit Lakes but were released shortly afterward. The remaining five units were staged in Lake Park at the request of Essentia EMS, remaining available if additional medical resources became necessary.

Officials say Essentia EMS later determined the extra resources were no longer needed, and all Sanford Ambulance crews returned to Fargo.

The agency says questions regarding the storm response should be directed to Essentia EMS in Detroit Lakes.
