Fergus Falls, MN (KDLM) – Fargo-based Post-Traumatic Funk Syndrome will have a guest performance during the M State Spring Concert Band on Saturday, May 3rd.

A 12-piece band known for its horn-driven sound, lively stage performances and collaborations with
school and community orchestras, Post-Traumatic Funk Syndrome blends funk, soul and R&B with a touch of rock.

“Post-Traumatic Funk Syndrome is Fargo’s hottest classic rock horn band,” says James Iverson, M State Concert Band director. “The group performs the best of the classic horn hitsby bands including Chicago, Blood Sweat and Tears, Earth Wind and Fire, and others. The band is ledby Russ Peterson from Concordia College, who will also be performing as a soloist with the M State Concert Band.”

Under Iverson’s direction, the Concert Band will perform upbeat classics such as “Festive Overture,” by Dmitri Shostakovich, and “Overture to Candide,” by Leonard Bernstein. Post-Traumatic Funk Syndrome will perform jointly with the Concert Band on a Glenn Miller medley and “Vehicle,” by the Ides of March, and then will take the stage on their own to perform some of their favorite classic rock arrangements.

The concert will begin at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 3rd, in Legacy Hall.
