Detroit Lakes, Minn. (KDLM) – A 16-year-old boy was found dead in Fargo on Monday night of an apparent gunshot wound.
According to the Fargo police department, on May 22 at 11:19 p.m., officers responded to a report of gunshots on the 4400 block of 9th Avenue.
Upon their arrival to the scene, officers discovered the deceased juvenile victim with a handgun lying near the teenage boy’s body.
Police said multiple individuals were involved in an altercation before the shots were fired and fled the scene before law enforcement arrived.
Law enforcement is working to identify all the individuals involved and the case remains under an active investigation.
The name of the victim was not released by law enforcement.
