Laker Girls Golf Finishes Second At Two-Day State Preview Tournament At Bunker Hills

COON RAPIDS, MINN (KDLM) – The Detroit Lakes Lakers girls golf team was in Coon Rapids for the two-day Tri-State State Preview Meet at Bunker Hills Golf Course and took second place in a 20-team meet loaded with some of the best teams in the state.

The Lakers shot a two-day 654 (328/326), led by Hanna Knoop’s seventh-place overall finish. Knoop shot 82/74/156 over the two days. Laura Syltie tied for 12th with a 76/84/160, Sophie Christianson tied for 29th by carding an 86/83/169, and Laura Miller finished 37th with an 84/90/174 to finish in the top four spots for DL.

Tatum Gatheridge tied for 39th with a 92/85/177 and Jaycie Sliper tied for 62nd with a 93/94/187.

Maple Grove won the meet with a 631. Alexandria’s Hannah Boraas won medalist honors with a 71/74/145.

The Lakers have two meets this week: hosting the DL Invite at the Detroit Country Club on Tuesday, then heading to the Gravel Pit in Brainerd on Wednesday.
