Laker Girls JV Golf Finishes Ninth at Varsity Meet in Park Rapids

Park Rapids, Minn (KDLM) – The Detroit Lakes Girls Golf JV competed in the Park Rapids Invitational at Headwaters Golf Course on Monday afternoon and finished in ninth place in the 17-team varsity meet with a team score of 382.

Eighth-grader Jaycie Sliper had the low score for the Lakers and finished in 11th place with an 87. Seventh-grader Ady Witkowski finished 15th with a 91, freshman Ava Klemm shot a 99 to put her in 41st place, eighth-grader Mya Boeke was 55th with a 105, seventh-grader Isabella Seuntjens finished 71st with a 108, and seventh-grader Becca Hunter finished 73rd with a 111.

Annika Jyrkas of Fergus Falls won medalist honors with a 75.

Laker girls golf is back in action on Thursday, May 11th at St. Cloud Country Club, then back will be back at Headwaters on Friday, May 12th for the sub-section meet, then will travel to The Vintage at Staples on Saturday, May 13th.

The Mid-State Conference Meet is also at Headwaters in Park Rapids on Monday, May 15th.
