Detroit Lakes Swim And Dive Takes Second at MidState Conference Meet; Erickson wins three events

PARK RAPIDS, MN (KDLM) – The Detroit Lakes Boys Swim and Dive team finished as MidState Conference runner-up at the 2023 Conference meet in Park Rapids on Saturday.

Ryan Erickson paced the Lakers with three victories on Saturday. Erickson won the conference championship in the 200 IM and the 100 freestyle. Erickson was also a part of the conference-champion 400-free relay team with Micah Barberg, Brian Morrison and Zane Roberts.

Erickson, Barberg, Morrison and Roberts also placed second in the 200-free relay.

Barberg also took second place in the 200 freestyle and 100 backstroke. Roberts finished second in the 100 breaststroke. 3rd place for Brian Morrison in the 50 freestyle.

The Lakers will now prepare for the Section 5A Meet in Morris on February 25th with the opportunity to send a number of swimmers to the State Swim and Dive Meet in Minneapolis on March 2-4.
