DETROIT LAKES (KDLM) – A 20-year-old Fergus Falls man has been identified as the victim of a drowning on Big Detroit Lake after he jumped from from a pontoon, Wednesday.
Jette Frandson was located in approximately 29 feet of water and was pronounced dead at the scene. Frandson had jumped into the water from the pontoon he was on with three friends. The wind began to push the pontoon away from Frandson who then begun to struggle. All three friends stated they jumped into the water at separate times to rescue Frandson with attempts unsuccessful.
It took divers nearly 3 hours to locate Frandson with several agencies and private citizens assisting.
The incident remains under investigation.
