PEQUOT LAKES, MN (KDLM) – The Detroit Lakes Lakers Girls golf team won the Pequot Lakes Opener at Crosswoods Golf course on Thursday.
The Lakers scored a 326, beating second-place Pequot Lakes by 11 strokes to record their first win of the season.
Sophomore Laura Syltie and senior McKenna Mallow shared medalist honors by shooting 76s. It was the second time in as many meets that Mallow has carded the low score of a meet (she shot a 78 in Becker on April 12th).
Sophomore Hanna Knoop shot an 83, eighth-grader Tatum Gatheridge shot a 91, eighth-grader Maddie McDougall and freshman Sydney Miller each shot 92s, seventh-grader Mya Boeke shot a 110 and seventh-grader Becca Hunter shot a 127.
With Monday’s home meet at Lakeview Golf Course canceled, the Lakers’ next meet is next Wednesday, April 27th at Minnewaska Country Club.
