Laker Girls Golf Takes Third At Season-Opening Meet in Becker

BECKER, MN (KDLM) – The Laker girls golf team battled rain, wind, and cold in their first tournament of the season. The Lakers were in Becker at Pebble Creek Golf Course. The Lakers finished third with a 369. Defending AAA State Champion Alexandria won the tournament with a 329, and Hutchinson finished second with a 360. Senior McKenna Mallow was the medalist, shooting a 78 to win the meet. 

Sophomore Hanna Knoop shot a 95, freshman Sydney Miller and eighth-grader Tatum Gatheridge each carded a 98, eighth-grader Maddie McDougall shot a 104 and seventh-grader Jaycie Slipper shot a 116.

The next meet for the Lakers will be at Crosswoods Country Club in Ham Lake on Tuesday the 19th in an invite against Pequot Lakes, Staples-Motley, Bemidji, Minnewaska Area, Moorhead, and Pine River-Backus.
