Juvenile Airlifted with Serious Injuries After UTV Rollover in Wadena County

WADENA COUNTY (KDLM) – A juvenile was airlifted, Sunday after a UTV rollover in Wadena County.

Around 5:44 p.m., Sunday, March 20, the Wadena County Sheriff’s Office and other emergency personnel were dispatched to the 24000 block of County Rd 139. Emergency personnel found a 2020 Polaris Ranger turned over in the ditch. It is believed that UTV was eastbound on County Road 139 when the driver lost control and the machine began to fishtail, causing it to roll on its side and come to a rest in the ditch.

The driver has been identified as Shawna Holmquist, 34 of Nimrod. Two juveniles were in the bed of the UTV and were ejected suffering only minor scrapes and bruises. A juvenile in the front passenger seat suffered serious injury and was airlifted by Life Link III to Hennepin Healthcare.

The driver was transported to Tri-County Healthcare with serious injuries.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash.
