BLAINE, MN (KDLM) – After missing the opening day of the 2021 Herb Brooks Holiday Classic, the Detroit Lakes Girls Hockey Team is in Blaine to compete in Day Two of the tournament.
The Lakes missed the first day of action after nearly a foot of snow fell in the Lakes area, so they were forced to take a forfeit in their opening round game against Marshall.
The Lakers will face Waconia (4-8-1) at 11:15 this morning in the Consolation Round. The Lakers enter the tournament with a 3-7 record. If the Laker win, they’ll play either University School Milwaukee or Buffalo in the Consolation Championship on Wednesday at 3:00. If they lose, they’ll play in the 7th place game at 12:30 on Wednesday.
