Detroit Lakes High School Band Director will March in Tournament of Roses Parade

DETROIT LAKES (KDLM) – Detroit Lakes High School’s band director, Tim Siewert will be marching in the 2022 Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, California.

Siewert will be playing the trumpet as part of the Salute to America’s Band Directors at the Tournament of Roses Parade on Jan. 1. Siewert has been the band director in Detroit Lakes for the last seven years.

His dad, Jim, a retired band director at St. Peter will also be marching.

In a historic first, 300 band directors from across the country will march in the parade next to a colorful animated float. The group will pay tribute to the exceptional instruction, character development and inspiration provided by music educators everywhere.

The Tournament of Roses Parade will be televised on Jan. 1 at 10 a.m. on ABC.
