Dec 8, 2021 | 11:34 AM

DETROIT LAKES (KDLM) – The Canadian Pacific Railroad has again cancelled the annual Holiday Train due to COVID concerns.

The train which has become a holiday staple in the Lakes Area since 1999 has raised over $17 million and 4.8 million pounds of food to help those in need.

The Railroad will plan on producing the Holiday Train concert virtually again this year in lieu of their typical in-person Holiday Train program.

The CP “Holiday Train at Home” virtual concert will be held on Saturday, December 18th at 7 p.m. and will last for approximately 1 hour and 15min. Headlining the concert will be Steven Page and The Strumbellas, with featured performances by Tanika Charles, Keb Mo, The Trews, Aysanabee, Sierra Noble and the Odds.

The show will be available to live-stream via Canadian Pacific’s Facebook page (facebook.com/canadian.pacific), YouTube and website cpr.ca/holidaytrain.

The concert will remain available there for future viewing until the end of the year.
