DETROIT LAKES (KDLM) – After unseasonably high temperatures during the first week of December that reached the mid-40s, the Lakes Area may be hit with significant amounts of snow this weekend.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch from Saturday evening through Sunday afternoon and is forecasting a narrow and elongated band of 6 or more inches of snow expected Saturday, but location and coverage of the heaviest portion remains uncertain.
Winds will increase Sunday morning as snow ends, leading to blowing snow impacts on Sunday.
