FRAZEE (KDLM) – The Daughter of a Frazee woman who was hit by a semi along Highway 34 near Detroit Lakes is asking for the driver to come forward.

The crash happened around 8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 11 as Heather Pihlaja of Frazee was walking along 385th Avenue. She suffered life-threatening injuries and remains in the hospital.

Her daughter Brianna Gibson spoke with WDAY-TV in Fargo, “In times of crisis, she’s the person I call and not being able to call her is really hard. I don’t understand – you have to know you hit something or eventually know.”

Authorities say the semi is a white Volvo, model years 2016, 2017 or 2018 and will likely have passenger side door damage. It was pulling a flatbed trailer with two pieces of machinery or other load covered with a tarp on the back.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call local law enforcement.
