Gliks in Washington Square Mall Plans to Reopen Next Week

DETROIT LAKES (KDLM) – After being closed for nearly 3 months, Gliks in the Washington Square Mall is planning on reopening next week.

The store suffered major smoke damage Sept. 10, 2021 when a fire broke out in an apartment adjacent to the mall – smoke and water spilled into the mall during firefighting efforts with more than 300,000 gallons of water used to put out the fire.

A store representative with Gliks, said they’re hoping to reopen on Nov. 19. Employees of the store are restocking the newly renovated store this week.

The fire that temporarily closed the Washington Square Mall was ruled accidental and unintentional by fire investigators caused by an apartment resident having a recreational fire on an outdoor back deck area.
