DETROIT LAKES (KDLM) – Detroit Lakes High School will debut their fall musical, Newsies this week.
The musical is based on the 1992 musical film Newsies, which was inspired by the real-life Newsboys Strike of 1899 in New York City.
More than 30 cast members will help bring the performance to life with shows over the next two weeks at the Detroit Lakes Middle School.
“It’s a wonderful show, you’ll hear music that is just phenomenal,” said Kathy Larson, the Director of this year’s musical.
Tickets for the shows on Nov. 4, 6, 12 and 13 at 7:30 p.m. and Nov. 7, at 3 p.m. are $10 and available at Central Market as well as the door.
