DETRIOT LAKES (KDLM) – The Laker volleyball team was given the number five seed in the Section 8AAA playoffs and will begin the postseason tournament on the road on Thursday night at St. Cloud Tech. The Lakers finished the regular season with a record of 9-16. The St. Cloud Tech Tigers finished the regular season with a record of 8-14.
Detroit Lakes and St. Cloud Tech never met during the regular season. In fact, the Lakers did not play anyone from their section during the regular season. St. Cloud Tech went 3-5 in section play this season.
Detroit Lakes has battled injuries all season. DL will enter the playoffs without having their only senior on the floor Lauren Kaiser. Detroit Lakes will also be without their top-setter Ava Jones, and they are unsure if they will have their opposite outside hitter Rylee Johnson because of a foot injury.
KDLM will broadcast the Laker volleyball game on Thursday night with pregame coverage beginning at 6:40 pm from St. Cloud Tech High School.
